Follow the link below to install SharePoint 2010:
Setting Up the Development Environment for SharePoint 2010 on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008
You may find this video useful as well if you are installing SharePoint 2010 on Windows 7.
If you have got any error while installing; it is most likely because of you might have missed some prerequisite. So read the msdn article properly and let me know if you need any help.
If you got above error then you have not installed .net framework 3.5 which is mentioned for prerequisite for SharePoint 2010.
If you got above error then the MSSQL$SharePoint database service has not been created so to resolve this you could try repair option.
Go to control panel -> add/remove program -> choose SharePoint -> right-click and select Repair.
For them who want to use local administrator account for central administrationDuring initial installation you will need to use domain administrator account: like domain\UserLoginname
Happy Installing 🙂
One thought on “Installing SharePoint 2010”
I tried configuring SharePoint 2010 installed on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.I have tried all the basic steps which were mentioned in the similar posts
The error I get is as below:
“an exception of type system.argumentoutofrangeexception was thrown.Additional exception information:Index was out of range.Must be non-negative and less than the size of collection.”
Parameter name: index
Steps I carried out:
1. One of the post stated to delete the CA webapp created in IIS and re run the config again–I did.
2. To uncheck some services in IIS and/or remove IIS and reinstall again and re run config–I did.
3.Remove all the databases created and re run config –I did.
I have installed:
IIS 6.0,SQL Server 2008 R2,pre-requisites for Sharepoint 2010 all running on Win7 x64 with 6 GB of available RAM.
Thanks in advance
